Session Tips
Most important: try to relax. We are going to have fun. I promise!
I come with zero expectations of what your family should be like. Do not let your kid(s) stress you out. Remember, we are creating something together. Just be yourself. Let your kids be themselves. Celebrate them. Enjoy them! Remember that anything that might feel “crazy” can actually bring an image to life. Just go with it. I’ve got this :)
Newborn parents: Please DO NOT stress. At some point your baby might cry. I know they will also need to be fed and changed. This is all normal and totally okay.
Sessions at Home
I am a natural light photographer (no flash). Please open all of your curtains and blinds as much as possible before I arrive. The more natural light the better. Shut off overhead lights. That’s it, you’re done!
Wardrobe Tips
Wear clothes that reflect your style. If you feel comfortable you will look comfortable. Casual attire is best for sessions at home.
Avoid tight clothing.
If it shows sweat, shows underwear lines/bra straps, or if it wrinkles easily, don’t wear it.
Dress your kids in clothes that they love and are comfortable in.
One of the best ways to choose your color palate is to determine if your photo shoot environment has warm or cool tones.
Keep in mind the environment in which you’ll be hanging your photographs. Consider the color palate of your home so that your images will fit in and add to your decor.
You can’t go wrong with neutrals.
Avoid wearing bright white.
Do not wear neon colors.
Avoid distracting patterns and thin stripes but don’t be afraid of texture.
Matching outfits can be tempting but individuality is best.
Remove anything that doesn’t add to the outfit and make sure all pockets are empty.
Feel free to accessorize but avoid distracting jewelry. No Apple watches.
Avoid apparel (shoes included) with brand names, logos, characters or words.
